The Firm’s Founder and Managing Counsel, Awa U. Kalu SAN FNIALS has been appointed a member of the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee on the 18th December, 2015. Appointments to this prestigious post are usually reserved for lawyers of recognised experience and achievement. The appointment lasts for a term of two years which is renewable at the discretion of the body. Awa U. Kalu is a decorated lawyer with 37 years of experience as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court who was awarded the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in the year 2000.
He remains one of an exclusive club of lawyers to hold the honour alongside a Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. He has acted in different capacities as a public servant including as Special Assistant to three different Attorneys- General and Ministers of Justice as well as serving in his own right as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Abia State between 1999 and 2005.
